| "I don't know what's best about this CD -
Michael McNevin's music or his Etch A Sketch drawings that accompany
each song. McNevin is a singer-songwriter of the highest order...
His sense of humor and eye for meaningful moments in the lives
of his fellow townsfolk and travelers make him the kind of artist
that listeners appreciate for both the language and the passion
he brings to his music" -Acoustic Guitar Magazine.
Michael McNevin is a unique and gifted vocalist and guitarist,
with a true knack for storytelling. The youngest of four brothers,
Michael writes with humor and irony and depth about his roots
in the rail town of Niles, California. "Two feet ahead
of the train" reenacts a very close call on a train trestle
when he was ten years old, "John's Cocoons" describes
the spring ritual of his oldest brother John hatching a shoe
box full of giant Polyphemus moths all over the house, and "Bagger" talks
about his days working in the town grocery store. All are vivid,
working-class tales.
